From September 2 to 5, the international conference “3D GeoInfo & Smart Data Smart Cities 2025” (the 20th International 3D GeoInfo Conference 2025 and the 9th International Smart Data and Smart Cities Conference) was held at the Kashiwa Campus, the University of Tokyo, co-hosted with the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism (MLIT, Japan).
The event far exceeded our initial expectations, attracting more than 200 participants from around 20 countries —primarily from Europe and North America— and provided a valuable opportunity for active discussions and networking.
Despite the extreme heat, the entire program was completed as scheduled. Many participants commented that “the Kashiwa Campus offered a quiet and nature-rich environment, conveniently located near the hotel, which allowed us to concentrate on intensive discussions with the same group throughout the week.” We are truly delighted to receive such positive feedback.
We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to all who joined us. Looking ahead, we hope to further strengthen collaboration with colleagues both in Japan and abroad, and to contribute to both academia and society.
About the 3D GeoInfo & SDSC
The 3D GeoInfo series, launched in 2006, is a leading international conference on 3D city models and geospatial information science. The Smart Data Smart Cities (SDSC) conference has been held since 2016 with a focus on urban data science. While previous editions have taken place in Europe, North America, and Australia, the 2025 meeting marked the very first time it was hosted in Japan. The conference brings together experts in urban planning, architecture, geoinformatics, disaster management, and computer science to advance global contributions to sustainable cities through smart city technologies and digital twins. The next edition (2026) will be held in Sofia, Bulgaria.

9月2日から5日にかけて、東京大学柏キャンパスにて、国土交通省との共催で国際会議「3D GeoInfo & Smart Data Smart Cities 2025」(the 20th International 3D GeoInfo Conference 2025 and the 9th International Smart Data and Smart Cities Conference)を開催しました。
【3D GeoInfo & SDSC
